A’Chrannchuir House
Kilpatrick, Blackwaterfoot
Isle of Arran, KA27 8EY

Completed in Spring 2019, A’Chrannchuir is a very modern luxury house situated in a peaceful rural hamlet at the base of the Kilpatrick hills. A’Chrannchuir is Scots Gaelic meaning “the little hill behind the house”. So our house is named after the hill you see to the south as you look out over the arrival track and the neighbouring farm. The English pronunciation is Ah Chran Coor (the ch pronounced as in loch).

The House is bordered by quiet farmland. It overlooks Blackwaterfoot village and Drumadoon Bay on Arran’s west coast. The Mull of Kintyre and Campbeltown are clearly visible across the Kilbrannan Sound. Paul McCartney owned a cottage and recording studio on Kintyre and made the area world famous with his serenade of the area in 1977.

Local area
It is a 15 minute walk to the beach at the Feorline shore and another 10 minutes along the beach path to the village of Blackwaterfoot (5 minutes drive on the A841). The local shops include a butcher, bakery, post office & village grocery store, petrol station and the friendly Kinloch Best Western hotel which has a public bar, restaurant and swimming pool.

Parking
There is ample parking for up to 4 cars at the house.
